Little information is available for the early years where local papers found more to write about than football. The club joined the St Austell and District league in 1901 and the following articles appeared in the papers of the day.

The following reports are recorded.

At Tywardreath, St Blazey played with the wind, but their combination was not so sufficiently strong to force the home defence, while at half time nothing had been scored. After the teams had changed ends, S.Harvey scored for the homesters, then a second was added by S.Boream from a penalty kick, then a third was headed in from a corner kick of S.V.Morcam – Result Towers 3 Saints 0.

Lostwithiel versus St Blazey February 8th 1901.

At Lostwithiel the home team won a very uninteresting game by 5v0. Lostwithiel were without Carne who place was taken by Dempster.

Friday March 1st. Mevagissey versus St Blazey.

St Blazey the home team, seemed to get the best of this game and won by 3v0 with F.Tonkin, F.Thorne and R.Elson scoring for their side. The visitors goal keeper Hocking showed good form and continually stopped some very difficult shots.

To be continued…

The year 1914 was to see the start of the First World War and no further records of football activity appear until 1919.
