Wadebridge 4v1 St Blazey Att 69 (12 away)
Manager Stuart Morgan missed his final match while away on holiday while Jack Tribble returned to the starting line up after serving his suspension that carried over from last season. James Baker was still out injured after picking up an injury away at Plymouth Marjons so Lee Whetters made up the back four.
Wadebridge started the stronger and had two good opportunities to open the scoring. Dan Jennings seen his first effort cleared off the line and shortly after was through on goal but his chip over the St Blazey goalkeeper also cleared the cross bar. Mid way through the first half St Blazey began to get a foot hold in the match and Lyle Johnson picked up the loose ball, took on three defenders and curled the ball towards the far corner but the shot flew wide of the post. St Blazey took the lead in the 38th minute following a Wadebridge corner. The corner was swung in and the header at the post was cleared off the line. The ball was picked up and two quick passes sent Tribble through on goal. The Wadebridge goalkeeper came racing out and saved Tribble’s low shot only for the ball to break back to him to round the goalkeeper and slot the ball into an empty net. Wadebridge continued to trouble St Blazey and a good run down the right was met with a brilliant low cross that was put out for a corner. Wadebridge had one last chance to score before half time when a throw in was worked down the right but the shot went high and wide.
