Full Draws are listed at the foot of the preview.
No fewer than 24 SWP clubs have entered the FA Vase this year, a new record high and the 1st Qualifying Round on Saturday sees 20 of those clubs in action, but 12 of them will face each other in 6 all league ties.
There are two all Premier West clashes as Porthleven host Callington at Gala Parc and St Blazey entertain Godolphin Atlantic at Blaise Park. There is just the one all East affair as Ilfracombe Town, who are back in the Vase after a gap of a few years, host Torpoint Athletic although neither side will have met each other too often down the years.
A further three ties see East & West sides meet and in each case the East Division side has home advantage. Bovey Tracey who are unbeaten so far this season host Liskeard Athletic just a year after the two met each other at Lux Park when the Devon side progressed after a 3-1 win. Cullompton Rangers welcome Newquay back to Speeds Meadow as the Peppermints travel to a club that were in the same division last season and likewise Saltash United travel over the Tamar Bridge to play at Elburton Villa in the closest derby of the Round.
Of the eight ties where SWP clubs face opposition from elsewhere, all see them take on Western League opposition. Just two SWP clubs have home advantage though with Ivybridge Town welcoming Bishop Sutton who are in Division One to Erme Valley and Launceston entertaining a Cheddar side that are 100% in Division One at Pennygillam.
Six clubs face lengthy trips with three East sides on the road as Crediton United go to former Southern League side Street of the Premier Division. Millbrook, who are back in the Vase after a long absence go to Wells City who are riding high in Division One and Newton Abbot Spurs are away at Welton Rovers, another Division One side who are based in Midsommer Norton.
Three West sides are on the road with Bodmin Town going to Bishop Lydeard, near Taunton. Falmouth Town are away at Bristol Telephones who have yet to pick up a point in Division One this season and Helston Athletic go to last years Western League Division One Champions, Keynsham Town with a tie that will be on an artificial pitch as The Crown Field is one of a handful of FA approved 4G grounds.
Four sides who entered the Vase are not involved on Saturday, St Austell are exempt until the 2nd Round proper having reached the 4th Rd last season, bowing out away to eventual Vase Winners Chertsey Town. Three sides received byes for Saturday with the lucky sides being West Division outfit Camelford and East Division duo, Axminster Town & Sidmouth Town.
The draw below has been updated to include Replay information.
The 2nd qualifying round has also been drawn but has many “and/or’s” although the three sides who have a bye now know who they will face. Axminster Town will travel, but in which direction they will have to wait and see, as they will go to the winners of the Keynsham Town v Helston Athletic tie. Camelford already know who they will face as they host Ashton & Backwell who also received a bye, whilst Sidmouth Town will host the winners of the Cullompton Rangers v Newquay tie.
